Dear Applicant: Thank you for your insterest in the Clinical Elective Program for Visiting Foreign Students at the Yale University School of Medicine. We hope you find the information in this booklet interesting and helpful. Application forms , please read the instructions carefully, and if you apply, complete the application in its entirely. Enclose with your completed application the required letters and documentation and mail all under one cover to the address above. We must have your completed application by September 30 for the Spring term and by May 30 for the Fall term, including letters and supporting documents.
Enclose in one envelope addressed to the Office of International Medical Studies as
shown above the following:
(1) your completed application
(2) required letters*
(3) all other required documents
* A letter of support from the Dean of your medical school. This letter, in English or with English translation, is required and must be submitted above your Dean's original signature, with the school's seal, on your medical school's official stacionary.
* A letter from a member of the faculty at your medical school who has observed your clinical skills. This letter, in English or with English translation, is required, and must be submitted above the faculty member's original signature on your medical school's oficial stationary.
* Documentation, with translation in English , of your inmunization record and documentation, with translation in English, of your PPD within the past year. If your PPD is positive, your must send a copy of your written ches x-ray report in English or with English translation.
Requirements We offer a maximum of eight weeks (two sifferent four week rotations) of clinical electives to visiting foreign medical students. NO EXCEPTIONS ARE MADE.Students must be in their final year of medical studies in order to participate in the elective program.

Electives are scheduled in two blocks of time, Fall and Spring Semesters.
